The School of Media and Communication (SMC) has achieved a historic milestone, with 17 research papers accepted for the 75th Annual International Communication Association (ICA) Conference. The accepted papers span diverse research fields, including journalism studies, public relations, new media, human-computer interaction, health communication, gender studies, and social psychology.
Many of these papers are co-authored by faculty members and graduate or undergraduate students, highlighting the school’s strength in research innovation and talent cultivation. Moving forward, the school remains committed to advancing team-based research frameworks, empowering our scholars and students at all levels to make impactful contributions to international academia.
As the world’s most prestigious academic organization in the field of communication research, ICA serves as the discipline's gold standard. Its annual conference is widely regarded as the field’s premier event. The 2025 conference, themed “Disrupting and Consolidating Communication Research,” will take place in Denver, Colorado, from June 12–16.
