In a major step towards international academic collaboration, Shenzhen University (SZU) and Michigan State University (MSU) have officially signed an international cooperation agreement. The partnership was sealed during a two-day visit, September 22-23, 2024, by a distinguished MSU delegation including Prof. Heidi Hennink-Kaminski, Dean of the College of Communication Arts and Sciences, Associate Professor Dar Meshi, and Director of Visiting International Professional Program Wu Xinyu. The collaboration aims to transform the School of Media and Communication of Shenzhen University into a global hub for academic exchange, fostering deeper cooperation in research and talent development. With this agreement, both institutions are poised to explore new frontiers in science, innovation, and education, leveraging their combined strengths to drive global influence.

The MSU delegation toured Yuehai campus, impressed by the rapid transformation and modern facilities. An exhibition on Lufeng cultural heritage showcased traditional artifacts, prompting discussions on global cultural promotion.

The signing ceremony, held on September 23, was attended by key representatives from both universities, marking a commitment to push the boundaries of academic research and cultural exchange. MSU delegation delivered an engaging lecture on the neuroscience behind social media use and also introduced various international exchange programs, sparking lively discussions among students and faculty.

This strategic partnership is set to enhance the academic landscape at both universities. By joining forces, the institutions aim to create a dynamic platform for innovative studies and set a new benchmark for global academic collaboration.
